My dear Zaryf turned three today…

Alhamdulillah….Zaryf, my third boy turned three today….and what a happy face we saw this morning when we told him that his birthday is today…You can tell  that he’s so happy because he always has this look on his face whenever he’s happy. You know…the shy smiley kind of look …its like as if he’s trying to conceal his feelings but the look on his face always betrayed him….hehehe…what a sweet boy he is…
I still remember when I was 7 month pregnant with him…during my monthly check up with the specialist, we have been informed that there was something wrong with his heart….It was detected from the sound of his heartbeat which was so abnormal. The normal one should sound like dup dup dup…continuously but his sounds like dupdup…dupdup….you know…like its missing a beat…We were advised to do a detailed scan to find out more and I remember asking the doctor what would be the possibilities for him if he really had a heart problem. The Dr. told us that there’s always chances that he might not be able to be as active as the other boys and that he might need a pace maker for the rest of his life…..can you imagine how we felt that day…We were so sad and felt sorry for our boys. What if it really had to be that way…Imagine being a boy and you can’t be with the rest of your friends and can only watch ….
I know that we have to be strong for him and we don’t want to just wait and see…We went to our family Dr. (Dr. Nadhir Khan), for a second opinion….Well it’s always good to have a second opinion right? and Dr. Nadhir’s opinion somehow always manage to…you know…..lessen the weight in our heart…He kind of always has this rather different opinion from the other Dr we met (Its not like we don’t trust other Drs you know). ….So.. we went to his clinic, told him what the Specialist informed us and ask for his opinion. As always, he was abled to make us feel a bit relief with his answers…He informed us that it was normal and sometimes it happened during the 7th month of pregnancy as the fetus internal organs has not been fully developed yet and most of the times it will be ok by itself. Nevertheless we were advised to do the detailed scan as scheduled. Fewww! looks like we still have good chance.
We felt relief but we didn’t just sit down and waited for it to be ok by itself….We tried the alternative way….(not by going to tok bomoh or anything ah..) We read somewhere that someone who has been suffering from an illness gets well after drinking Zam Zam water….So we thought, why not…lets just give it a try….Who knows what Allah has in store for us…From that day onwards I drank Zam Zam everyday…praying that with Allah’s will, our son will be better…
Our faith were surely tested when up to the day of the delivery, his heartbeat doesn’t show any improvement. Infact on the day, I had to be wheeled to another delivery room because the machine couldnt’ detect his heart beat and they thought that there might a problem with the machine and so I was wheeled to another delivery room with new machine ( thanks to the epidural, I don’t feel any delivery pain so I never missed zikir) but it turns out that the reason why the heart beat can’t be detected was because it was beating to fast, the machine failed to pick up the beat…..
Alhamdulillah, we never lost faith and we always believe that Allah is always by our side and InsyaAllah everything will be fine….The paediatrician was already in the delivery room  with the incubator ready for his arrival….and when he is finally out to see the world….the paed has to put ice on his neck to slow down his heart beat and only after a while do we hear his cry…..I never really had the chance to welcome him with my hugs as his other brothers cos he was straight away taken to the NICU for observation….I was only allowed to visit him and feed him on the second day….Again, Alhamdulillah, his progress has been good and finally we can take him home on his 5th day……

And now….Its his third wonderful year….Alhamdulillah Ya Allah…we hope that you will always be with him along his way and guide him in all he did…

My Zaryf today, his fav. song is InsyaAllah and Barakallah by Maher Zain, when he is in the car, he can talk and talk and talk….until we reach our destination…or he will only stop when he sleeps and will start talking and  asking questions again if were not there yet when he was awake….

Thank you Allah for everything that You have given us…..
